Dirk's Message

We found this past year to be another challenging year for gardening. In our area it was a cool and very wet year. As we mentioned previously, this was the year we were trying to start new gardens at our new home. Needless to say we did not get as far along with them as we had planned. But we are eager to get back at them this spring.

We have mentioned now for the last couple of years that we were planning on updating our catalogue. The good news is - this year we were finally able to get that accomplished. The bad new is you will also notice a price increase. It is something we were trying very hard to avoid. But costs have been going up each year and it came to the point that we had no choice. The last time we had a price increase was in 2005 that was 12 years ago. We hope you understand our position on this difficult decision. The good news again is you can still expect to receive high quality seeds and very generous quantities in each package. We hope this increase will be the last for another 12 years.

This 2018 catalogue is current at the time of printing. However, new varieties and changes may occur during the season. You can always monitor our website to keep up to date on new varieties, and on the availability of your favourite seeds.

We are cutting back on garden shows again this year as we find ourselves busy with regular sales, fundraising events and specialty packaging. Although we are happy to see the increase in these areas we do miss seeing our customers and friends at the garden shows.

We will however be attending:
Canada Blooms - March 9 to 18 2018
Peterborough Garden Show - April 13 to 15 2018

If you make it to one or both of these shows be sure to drop by our booth and say Hi.

As always we welcome your feedback and pictures as both are always appreciated.

Happy Gardening
