PUMPKINS - BIG MAX PUMPKINS Big Max cucurbita maxima A great pumpkin for carving a jack-o-lantern or making an entery to the fair. They are red -orange with wide ribs, yellowish flesh and a mild-semi sweet flavour making them a great choice for pies and soups. On average they reach 23kg. By limiting each plant to one fruit they have been known to reach 90kg (200lb) and 177cm (70”) round. A record size of 181kg (400lb) was noted in 1893.
